We have something very special and unique in Beaver Dam … it’s the “Wisconsin Arts and Peony Festival”. Enjoy the beautiful blooms at Ovans Peony Farm with over 1500 plants! There are activities galore for the art, quilting, sewing, and flower lover in you. Here are just a few of the stops you will want to make during the festival. Be sure to check back with us as more events and activities are being added daily!

Ovans Peony Farm is the largest stem cut peony farm in the state of Wisconsin and currently has over 1500 plants of 100+ peony varieties which will all be in bloom the week/weekend of the festival (weather dependent). The farm will be open for tours during the festival. Be sure to bring your camera to capture the beauty of the different colors and varieties of peony blossoms. Visit the Peony Boutique to purchase fresh stem cut peonies, aprons, soaps, and more. You can also participate in their yoga in the peony’s classes, sign up for peony design classes, and enjoy great food, beverage, and music at their ‘Picnic in the Peonies’ event.
PICNIC IN THE PEONIES at Ovans Peony Farm
You’re invited to an evening filled with Flowers, Music & Memories at Ovans Peony Farm. Enjoy a “Picnic in the Peonies” — a “Field to Vase Dinner.” Fragrance from the softly hued blooming peonies fill the air as you stroll through rows of flowers. Bring along a blanket or your garden chair and select where you prefer to picnic as you enjoy live music, delicious food, and refreshments.

The Art Market is located in the heart of our Arts District. Shop for a special piece of art – from paintings, ceramics, woodworks, metal works, and jewelry to fiber arts, glass works, and mixed media featuring artist’s works from around the state. This year there will be 100 art vendors! The Arts District also offers you a chance to meet and purchase from local and surrounding area artist-owned businesses, while also having the opportunity to participate in different kinds of art classes including painting, wreath making, paper making, flower pounding, pressed flower workshops and more!
Enjoy Live Music and a variety of Food Truck vendors or from local downtown restaurants and eateries!

BRUNCH & BLOSSOMS DOWNTOWN STROLL

The Brunch & Blossoms Downtown Stroll maps can be picked up from the Beaver Dam Area Chamber of Commerce beginning Thursday during regular business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or on Friday and Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. Maps must be redeemed to the Chamber NO LATER than 3:30 pm on Friday or Saturday to receive your watering can and wildflower seeds. One map per participant.
During your Stroll through the downtown, collect 6 stickers:
One sticker from a participating restaurant/bar
Two stickers from 2 different participating organizations
Three stickers from 3 different participating retailers

Visit the Dodge County Center for the Arts who will be hosting 100 Years of Art Deco Special Quilt Challenge Exhibit by The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show presented by PBS Wisconsin and Nancy Zieman Productions. Each year, The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show hosts a themed quilt challenge. This year’s 100 Years of Art Deco Quilt Challenge Exhibit includes twenty-seven 30” wide x 40” long quilts, all incorporating an Art Deco theme. Get lost in the decadent details found in quilts made from fabrics that represent the Art Deco theme, which includes geometric forms, bold outlines, zigzags and more!
Saturday, June 8th: Mill House Quilts will host a ‘bed turning’ at the DCCA at 11 AM and 1:30 PM, as stories are told about the quilts that are layered and removed on a bed.

LAWN PARTY & STORYTELLING — FREE EVENTS!
Friday, June 7th | 7:30 PM – 9 PM: Bring your lawn chair and get ready for a thrill! The sandstone, Romanesque-style building of the Dodge County Historical Society serves as a fittingly spooky backdrop as storytellers share some hair-raising real-life ghost tales about Beaver Dam. There will be a Children’s Ghost Story, Local Storytellers, Professional Storyteller from Old World Wisconsin and a story inspired by a Twilight Zone episode. Adding to the suspense of the evening, the Dodge County Historical Society has had real-life ghostly encounters in their building. Maybe you’ll even experience one for yourself!
Saturday, June 8th | 10 AM – 3 PM: Bring your lawn chairs and join us for Dodge County Historical Society’s annual Lawn Party with live music by Carney and Navis, children’s activities, root beer floats, antique popcorn wagon, Historical Beaver Dam Walking Tours (1 PM), open museum, antique car show, harness racing horse and rig by Amber Sawyer and her horse Derek Bromac N, and spiritual medium readings with Madam Adela Seer.

BEAVER DAM AREA COMMUNITY THEATRE – Free event!

COMMUNITY PAINT-A-TILE EVENT: Festival attendees also have a unique opportunity to paint one-foot square aluminum tiles to help make the 12-foot by 12-foot mosaic mural at the Beaver Dam Area Community Theater featuring this year’s “hometown hero” and distinguished artist and actor, Eric Kalkhurst. These community mosaic murals are led by world-renowned portrait Artist Stephen Bennett, who now has a studio in Beaver Dam, WI.

FRED MACMURRAY APPRECIATION & DEDICATION EVENT: A very large and diverse display of Fred MacMurray memorabilia, showing vintage films and TV episodes of My Three Sons featuring Fred. Concession stand will be open, and people can pop in and out of the displays and viewings.

The Dodge County Center for the Arts will be hosting a Peony Art Exhibit happening now through Sunday, June 9th. There are works of art on display created by local artists from the Beaver Dam and Dodge County area. The event is free and will be running in conjunction with The Great Wisconsin Quilt Show 100 Years of Art Deco Special Quilt Challenge Exhibit.
